Yappy Hour Brought Paws, Pints, and Pure Joy to Downtown Carlsbad

Carlsbad Village was alive with excitement on Thursday, August 22, 2024, as CVA's first-ever Yappy Hour event rolled out the red carpet for our furry friends and their humans. Hosted by the Carlsbad Village Association (CVA) in collaboration with Pure Project Carlsbad, Carlsbad Pet & Feed, and Hot Dog on a Leash, this dog-centric event was an absolute tail-wagger!

The festivities kicked off with half-off doggie self-washes at Carlsbad Pet & Feed, where pups of all sizes enjoyed a splashy good time. With everything provided — soap, towels, and a bit of elbow grease — dog owners could leave the mess behind and focus on the fun. Every wash came with a complimentary collapsible dog bowl, making it a win-win for everyone.

As the clock struck 3:00 PM, the party moved across the street to Pure Project Carlsbad, where dog owners sipped on craft brews with $1 off pints while their pups mingled in a dedicated dog-friendly space. Laughter and barks filled the air as new friendships formed among furry friends and their humans!

Hot Dog on a Leash added to the excitement with free “Minute Clinic” training sessions, offering tips and tricks to keep tails wagging long after the event. Plus, there were exciting giveaways that had everyone’s tails wagging.

The first 25 lucky dogs to arrive strutted away with a stylish Carlsbad dog bandana and a tasty treat, courtesy of the Carlsbad Village Association. It was a paw-some sight to see so many pups decked out and ready for a good time.

The inaugural Yappy Hour was so much fun, and we couldn’t have done it without our amazing partners — Pure Project Carlsbad, Carlsbad Pet & Feed, and Hot Dog on a Leash. A big round of a-paws to everyone who joined us! We had a blast meeting so many wonderful people and their dogs, and can’t wait to do it again next month.
