If you’ve picked up the newest issue of Carlsbad Magazine, you might have read that there are eight new restaurants calling Carlsbad home and seven of them are right here in the Village! In addition to the seven new eateries, we also have a new coffee shop in town. Either recently opened or planning to roll out the red carpet soon, these new businesses offer everything from classical fare to a new, trendy menu.
Cicciotti’s Trattoria Italiana & Seafood opened in June on the corner of Grand and Roosevelt, and has been serving up classic Italian cuisine and wood fired pizzas all summer. July welcomed Carlsbad local, Adam Carruth and his new style of wine bar Carruth Cellars on North State Street. In August, Baba Coffee started serving coffee, tea and beer (yes beer) right next to Carruth. And Campfire, specializing in wood-fired, rustic food, had their soft opening last week and officially open tonight! They are also on North State next to Baba Coffee and Carruth Cellars.
Opening any moment is Succulent Café featuring coffee drinks and dessert amongst hundreds of artistic succulents. They are in the former Café Pannini location where Oak and State intersect. Pokewan, right next to Blue Ocean Rogata on Madison, offers “create-your-own” poke bowls. They are due to open any time now as well. Barrel Republic (beer by the ounce and a gastro-pub menu that is sure to please everyone) is shooting for an October open. They have taken over the former Australian Grill location and have expanded quite a bit. And last but not least, Carlsbad will once again have a seafood restaurant right downtown with the larger and remodeled Bluewater Grill sometime early 2017. Formerly Fish House Vera Cruz on Carlsbad Village Drive, the Bluewater Grill will also offer a fresh fish retail counter.
Wow! Can’t say it enough. Shop and dine local in Carlsbad Village and let us show you what local is all about!
