Village Voices: Carlsbad Redevelopment and Summer Events

Mark your calendar for the next Village Voices meeting, scheduled for Tuesday, May 14. This session offers a unique opportunity to learn about the Carlsbad Village Plaza mixed-use redevelopment project, which is set to transform the Smart & Final shopping center. The event takes place from 8:00 to 9:30 AM at the Dea Huston New Village Arts Center.

This month's guest speaker is Jonathan Frankel, Vice President of Regulatory & Legal Affairs at the Atlantis Group, a prominent San Diego-based consulting firm representing the project’s developer. Mr. Frankel will share site plan drawings and give an overview of the redevelopment project, including updates on tenant negotiations and construction timelines. This is a great chance to ask questions and learn about the changes coming to the Carlsbad Village Plaza.

Following Mr. Frankel’s presentation, Christine Davis, Executive Director of the Carlsbad Village Association (CVA), will discuss the summer events planned for downtown Carlsbad. This includes details about “Art in the Village” and “Flicks at the Fountain,” two popular events, along with information on how Carlsbad Village businesses can get involved. She will also share ways for CVA members and non-member businesses to engage with CVA through social media, event calendars, and other channels.
