We began this week with a clean Village and full heart.
On Sunday, March 19th, committed Carlsbad Village enthusiasts worked together at the Carlsbad Community Cleanup to remove over 429lbs of trash downtown, including a lot of cigarette butts!
Thank you to event sponsor, Visit Carlsbad, who provided volunteers with awesome t-shirts seen all throughout the Village Sunday morning, and host Richness of Giving for putting together such a tremendous day of giving back. We also would like to thank the Village Faire Shopping Center for giving all of us a home base for this amazing event.
A big thank you to our collaborators, as well! With the help of re-purposed buckets from Handel's Carlsbad and re-purposed grain bags from Pure Project Carlsbad, we were able to use less plastic and ensure that our clean ups don't add more waste to the environment.
Most importantly, we want to thank our volunteers who woke up early on a gloomy Sunday morning to help keep our downtown beautiful. It really does take a VILLAGE!
We hope to see you at one of CVA's upcoming clean-ups in the Village to do it all over again. Click on Carlsbad Village Cleanups for more information.
And don't forget to join us and Village host, Engel & Volkers Carlsbad (2965 Roosevelt St.), on April 22nd for the Earth Day Creek to Bay Cleanup with I Love a Clean San Diego. To register, click here.
