It's been said that art is a sense of magic. In Pop Up Art: Colors of the Season, this sentiment rings true. With projected light art, turning a small section of sidewalk on State Street into an ever changing story of colors and imagery, it does seem a bit magical.
Artist Lauren LeVieux explains, "As a site-specific art installation on a sidewalk in Carlsbad Village, Pop Up Art: Colors of the Season includes the elements of art, color, sea creatures and surprises. Finding a way to combine paint, computers, projectors, graphic art and light, using the sidewalk as the backdrop, I was hoping to create a playful pathway that could offer a chance to walk at any pace right on through art, color and the season."
LeVieux continues to add to this colorful story nightly, expanding its imagery for all to enjoy. This temporary art installation is supported by the City of Carlsbad's Cultural Arts Office and is managed by the Carlsbad Village Association. It runs from 5:00pm to 10:00pm through December 26th. Come experience what temporary art is all about in Pop Up Art: Colors of the Season.
