Unchained Melodies: Live Jazz This Sunday at St. Michael’s

St. Michael’s by-the-Sea Episcopal Church in Carlsbad Village invites you to a special live recording concert this Sunday, February 23rd, at 4:00 PM. The Evensong Quintet will perform timeless classics by George Gershwin, Cole Porter, Fats Waller, Irving Berlin, and Hoagy Carmichael, celebrating the rich heritage of the 1920s “Tin Pan Alley” era.

Established during the COVID-19 pandemic, Jazz Evensong was created to bring freedom, creativity, and joy to the community during challenging times. These gatherings are held every Sunday afternoon and are offered free of charge.

While the regular Jazz Evensong services are on a brief winter hiatus, they will resume on March 2nd. In the meantime, this live recording concert offers a rare opportunity to experience these unchained melodies in an intimate and welcoming setting.
