Record-Breaking Success at the Carlsbad State Street Sweep!

This past Saturday, September 21st, the Carlsbad community came together for a special edition of the State Street Sweep, in partnership with I Love A Clean San Diego as part of their Coastal Cleanup Day. With the support of Pure Project and Handel’s Ice Cream, volunteers turned out to make a big impact…and they certainly delivered!

A record-breaking 321 pounds of trash were collected, bringing the total to 2,466 pounds since the bi-monthly clean-up program began. While that total has been steadily built over time, Saturday’s effort was a standout, reflecting the dedication of volunteers who work tirelessly to keep Carlsbad beautiful.

Volunteers gathered outside Pure Project, where families, Village locals, and neighbors of all ages pitched in to clear litter from the streets. It was a true community effort, with everyone united in the goal of making a positive change.

After the cleanup, participants were rewarded with free coffee and discounts at Baba Coffee, complimentary cone cards from Handel’s Ice Cream, and discounted pints at Pure Project. It was a well-earned treat for a morning of hard work and collaboration.

Thank you to the ongoing efforts of our incredible volunteers and the support of local partners! Together, we’re keeping Carlsbad clean and beautiful.
