See Where Local Art Pops Up Next in Carlsbad Village

Blog Post - April 27, 2021

Category: What's New

For three weeks, beautiful glass art from five local artists graced the display windows and checkout counters of 15 downtown businesses in a new temporary art project designed to bring artists and businesses together. This first-ever collaboration between the City of Carlsbad Cultural Arts Office and the Carlsbad Village Association (CVA) was a great success bringing awareness to the beautiful art form of glassblowing and building realtionships in the Village. CVA is looking forward to launching the next Pop-up Art Experience this summer and will be announcing the next artistic theme and the dates of the project shortly.

If you were unable to visit the downtown business locations during the April activation, you can see the artist's work in the Barrio Glassworks art gallery located at 3060 Roosevelt Street. Barrio Glassworks is a public glassblowing studio and retail gallery that provides a unique experience and environment for residents and visitors alike. The studio includes an open viewing section for the public, allowing an up close look at the mesmerizing art of glassblowing.

We want to thank each of the five amazing artists for participating in the first-ever Pop-up Art Experience. It was truly an honor. Please visit each of the artist's websites by clicking on their names below:
