The first-ever Follow Your Heart Treasure Hunt was everything we hoped for and so much more. A total of 75 blown glass hearts of every color imaginable were hidden in plain sight at over 20 iconic or popular gathering spaces in Carlsbad Village. The blown glass hearts were courtesy of the artists at Barrio Glassworks, a public glassblowing studio and retail gallery located at 3060 Roosevelt St.
A total of 68 out of the 75 glass hearts were registered giving its new owner an opportunity for a glass blowing experience at Barrio Glassworks.
The winner is Emerson Allen - glass heart #29 - found in the courtyard of the Village Faire Shopping Center.
So, where were some of the places the hearts were hidden over the last 10 days?
A few locations were by:
- The art chair on State St
- The water fountain on the corner of Grand Ave and State St
- Carlsbad Art Wall at Senor Grubby's
- St. Michael’s Episcopal Church
- Carlsbad Mineral Spa
- Entrance to the Oak St. Rail Trail
- Two beach entrances
