We are pleased to announce that Entourage Salon (530 Carlsbad Village Drive) and Humble Olive Oils (2922 State Street) are the two winners of the 2nd Annual Holiday Window Decorating Contest. Entourage will receive a free 1/4 page ad in the Carlsbad Magazine and Humble Olive Oils will receive a 1/4 page ad in the Coast News, a combined prize total of almost $1,500!
The Carlsbad Village Association invited all businesses in the Village to turn its downtown into a Winter Wonderland this holiday by entering the Carlsbad Village Window Decorating Contest as a fun way to celebrate the holiday season, create a festive and beautiful downtown, attract visitors to the Village, and showcase their businesses.
The "People's Choice" voting took place November 25th through December 25th via an Instagram and Facebook social media voting campaign. Snowflakes, prominently displayed in each participant's window contained simple voting instructions. A second prize for "Critic's Choice" was voted on by a committee who visited each participating location to choose their favorite. The three committee members included Hollie Chamberlain of the Carlsbad Cookie Company (www.carlsbadcookiecompany.com), Sam Ross of Visit Carlsbad (www.visitcarlsbad.com) and Joyce Harris, a CVA Board Member whose role is Resident Representative.
"Everyday I passed the windows at Entourage and noticed something new; the scenes were engaging and beautifully detailed," Joyce said. "Santa's Workshop at Humble Olive Oils made me remember the Christmas scenes in the large stores downtown like Macy’s."
