Since the early 1990's, when the Carlsbad Village Association (CVA) became an official 501c6 not-for-profit organization, the CVA staff and board of directors made it their mission to help support the businesses in downtown Carlsbad.
Carlsbad's downtown is home to a wide variety of businesses ranging from solopreneurs to small independent businesses to Mom and Pop Shops that have thrived for decades in the Village. Restaurants, retail, services, and entertainment abounds in downtown Carlsbad.
Today, the Carlsbad Village Association supports the downtown businesses by hosting over 75 events per year to help increase foot traffic in the Village, advocates on small business policies at city council, works with city staff on quality of life issues, and generally does anything that it can, as often as it can, to help the businesses succeed and grow.
CVA proudly supports all businesses in the Village, whether or not they are members of its association. However, member businesses receive an additional layer of benefits and opportunities in exchange for their generous support. It is with the support of the local business community and residents in the Village, that CVA can continue to grow and become more effective and in turn provide a greater level of assistance, guidance, and advocacy.
CVA Members will soon be sporting the Carlsbad Village Association logo in their windows, just like Michelle Blasena, owner of Aranelle Carlsbad, an award-winning boutique that has been styling the community since 2001. It means so much to the CVA staff and its volunteer board of directors to see the support of the business community in this manner.
