On Saturday, February 8th, Carlsbad Village will be brimming with love and community spirit as Hearts of Carlsbad Village returns for another unforgettable day. This cherished tradition invites everyone to take a leisurely stroll through the Village and explore its small businesses, dine at its restaurants, grab coffee at one of its cafes, and explore its iconic spots all while keeping an eye out for one of 300 beautifully handcrafted glass hearts hidden throughout the area.
What started as a way to support small businesses during the pandemic has grown into an annual celebration of community. Each heart, lovingly created by Barrio Glassworks, is a unique treasure. While not everyone will find one, the true joy of the day is in enjoying the Village, discovering new places, and connecting with the community.
The hunt begins at 9:00 AM, with hearts hidden in accessible, easy-to-spot locations throughout the day. Early afternoon, around 2:00 PM, the last hearts will be hidden. We encourage everyone who finds a heart to register it using the QR code on its label. This will help others who are hunting to know how many remain to be found.
As you explore, you can take advantage of special deals at local businesses like Pure Taco, GelatoLove, Gazelle Fashion and Style, 75 Degrees and Fuzzy, Sun Diego and more making it a perfect day to discover all that the Village has to offer.
A boundary map will be available at Barrio Glassworks on event day. All hearts are hidden outdoors in public spaces. While only 300 hearts are hidden, the experience of discovering Carlsbad Village and enjoying the day with others is what truly makes this event special.
