Congratulations New Village Arts. You did it!
The former Bauer Lumberyard that became New Village Arts two decades ago, is now officially the Dea Hurston New Village Arts Center. And it is amazing!
After a harrowing time during Covid, the theatre underwent an incredible remodel and transformation. Thanks to major support from The Conrad Prebys Foundation, The Sahm Family Foundation, The Nordson Foundation, The Ginn Foundation, and The Parker Foundation the NVA Next Stage campaign raised over $2 million towards its renovation.
Now, the first theater outside of New York to be named for a black woman, the Dea Hurston New Village Arts Center will be a beacon for theater, art and community enthusiasts for decades to come.
For something entirely new, consider NVA's dinner and theatre package for a special night in downtown Carlsbad. Packages are available on line.
