From volunteer to board member to employee, Mark Coulombe has been an integral part of the Carlsbad Village Association from the first day we met at a business mixer event at the Foundry Artist Studios. The depth of his commitment to the business community and to the betterment of the Carlsbad Village Association has been endless.
While filling the role of CVA's Director of Development for the past two years, Mark created and launched a new membership program to provide expanded benefits to member businesses, secured county grants to enable CVA to host Flicks at the Fountain and Halloween in the Village, as well as launch a new Village merchandise line (coming soon), and so much more. He was also instrumental in helping keep the Farmers' Market viable during the pandemic which helped CVA stay focused on business support during 2020. His contributions to CVA were significant and too numerous to mention.
In addition to working for CVA, Mark also served on the New Village Arts Board of Directors for six years; five years as Secretary and one year as First Vice President. Every day he worked to support both the downtown business community and its arts community as well, and both are better for it.
Before bringing his talents to Carlsbad Village, Mark was a Senior Vice President and Team Leader in Employee Benefits Consulting for 18 years with Wells Fargo. He has lived in Carlsbad for nearly two decades.
While we wish we could keep Mark here in Carlsbad Village forever, he is heading to Chicago where he is looking forward to spending time with family, traveling more, exploring his new home town, and getting involved in the local community and arts.
Thank you for taking such good care of the downtown businesses and the Carlsbad Village Association. To say we will miss you is an understatement!
