BLOC was the first official coworking space in North County San Diego, fulfilling a need that simply wasn’t there before—a focused space to work remotely, without all the distractions of home.
What began in 2014 as a small, organic, entirely self-funded single location, quickly grew into three comfortable, modern spaces. Today BLOC is in three of North County San Diego’s premier coastal communities —Solana Beach, Leucadia, and Carlsbad Village—and they’re going strong with a hyper-local community of members filled with forward-thinking, inspired, creative people.
Coworking isn’t like traditional office space in the corporate world and BLOC offers an alternative and flexible workspace with a laid-back culture and an environment that supports both productive work and relationship-building. Their mission has always been to support and enable entrepreneurs and small business owners to grow and contribute to the vibrancy of their local communities.
BLOC Carlsbad Village is located on State Street, right in the heart of the village. They have redone the entire space, both inside and out, with custom sustainable desks, local artwork, cold brew from Lofty Coffee and Superfood Kefir Soda on tap, as well as a variety of beer and wine stocked for members.
In Carlsbad Village their flexible workspace options include private offices that range in size from one to six person teams, as well as open space coworking desks. They have multiple meeting spaces both inside and out, and members can walk to the beach, catch the train, have lunch at Board & Brew or Campfire, or grab a coffee over at Steady State.
BLOC is run like a family. They support and encourage one another. They encourage members to bring their families into their spaces, and to their events, and the connections made at BLOC are ones that extend well beyond the workday and the workspace.
