Blog Post - May 10, 2017

Category: What's New

Bike to Work Day 2017. To support the participation of more employers and employees, Bike to Work Day will be celebrated on a Thursday this year. Join thousands of commuters throughout the San Diego region as we GO by BIKE on the morning of Thursday, May 18. When you register for Bike to Work Day, you can pick up a free t-shirt* at one of 100 pit stops throughout San Diego County from 6 to 9 a.m. *Participants must show proof of registration to claim their free t-shirt.

Pit Stops. A total of 100 Bike to Work Day pit stops are planned, which will be open from 6 to 9 a.m. on Thursday, May 18 for anyone who registers. Pit stops offer fun breaks for new and experienced bike riders to rest and pick up a FREE t-shirt, snacks, and encouragement.

North County Family Bicycles & San Diego County Bicycle Coalition at 2978 Carlsbad Blvd, Ste 130, Carlsbad 92008 (in the Village Faire Shopping Center) is hosting a pit stop.  Stop by for coffee, snacks, and a raffle with prizes including two free electric bike rentals!  Minor repairs will be performed on spot! A second pit stop is being hosted by the City of Carlsbad at Frazee Beach on the PCH at Oak Avenue and Carlsbad Blvd. (3179 Carlsbad Blvd).  Look for the City of Carlsbad canopy!

Get Social. We’re hosting a Facebook contest to vote for your favorite Bike to Work Day commuter, commuter group, and pit stop. To participate, share a Bike to Work Day photo between May 18 - 21 on our @iCommuteSD Facebook page. Use #BTWDcommuter, #BTWDcommutergroup, or #BTWDpitstop to let us know which category you would like to enter. iCommute will post an album with all entries on our Facebook page on Monday, May 22. The photo with the most likes and loves in each category by Friday, May 26 will win a prize package! Get creative – decorate your bike, coordinate a theme with coworkers, or create a photo collage. For more details, view the Official Rules of the contest.
