The countdown is on for the highly anticipated Art in the Village event, returning to downtown Carlsbad on Sunday, June 23rd, from 9 am to 5 pm. Celebrating its 26th year, this free, one-day extravaganza, organized by the Carlsbad Village Association (CVA), promises to transform Grand Avenue and State Street into a bustling art hub.
Featuring over 130 fine artists from the region and Mexico, attendees can expect a diverse showcase of artistic talent, including oil paintings, watercolors, digital art, photography, glasswork, and more, all meticulously curated for their quality and originality. This year, visitors will have the opportunity to engage with artists firsthand, gaining insight into their inspirations, techniques, and passion for their craft.
Art lovers can also look forward to a harmonious blend of art and music on the Ting Internet stage, with performances ranging from soulful R&B by Jemille Vialet to soul-pop, funk, and R&B tunes from Jehlad Hickson and his band, along with the lively rockabilly vibes of The Ramblin’ Sweethearts.
For budding artists of all ages, the City of Carlsbad’s artmaking booth will offer creative activities, while the Food, Beer, and Wine Garden will tantalize taste buds with culinary delights from local vendors.
Live art demonstrations, including sculpting, printmaking, and jewelry making, will provide an immersive experience for attendees to witness the creative process firsthand.
To encourage sustainable transportation, cyclists can take advantage of the complimentary Bike Valet service provided by the City of Carlsbad and operated by the San Diego County Bicycle Coalition.
