"Follow Your Heart" Treasure Hunt Is A Huge Hit

Category: What's New

The Carlsbad Village Association, in collaboration with Barrio Glassworks, launched a Village-wide treasure hunt Saturday, February 6th to great anticipation. A total of 34 glass blown hearts, custom created by Barrio Glassworks, were hidden over the first weekend (17 on Saturday and 17 on Sunday) in the early morning hours. Some were found as early as 8:00 a.m. And a few more are hidden each day.

Due to popular demand, Barrio Glassworks is making even more glass hearts than the original 50, so that more will be available to be found over the ten day period through President's Day, February 15th, at some of the most iconic downtown Carlsbad locations. When you are out and about, exploring and enjoying Carlsbad Village, be on the lookout for one of the unique, hand-blown glass hearts because the heart you find is yours to keep! Some are hidden by our lovely murals, others are located at common spots where we stop and relax to enjoy the Village, and some are found at popular historic sights that make our downtown so unique. None are located anywhere near the railroad tracks or in any places that would pose an unsafe situation. They are all hidden in plain sight as well. Over the holiday weekend, we will even be placing some closer to the beach. Hints will be available on our Instagram and Facebook pages.

Each heart has a sticker on it instructing the new owner to register it on line at www.carlsbad-village.com in order to be entered into a drawing for a chance to win a private “Glassblowing Experience” courtesy of Barrio Glassworks. When you find a glass heart, head to the registration page to register your treasure by entering its three-digit engraved number.

Several hearts will be hidden each day with at least 10 per day being hidden on Saturday, Sunday and Monday of this upcoming weekend. Over 75 glass blown hearts will be created by Barrio Glassworks for this fun, free, community event. Good luck!
