On Sunday afternoon, May 21, PHES Gallery will open its newest exhibition, “Story Quilts,” in Carlsbad, CA. "Story Quilts" features the work of eleven local textile and fiber artists; Sandra Lauterbach, Nancy Lemke, Viviana Lombrozo, Nelda McComb, Dan Olfe, Marty Ornish, Karen Rips, Tara Ritacco, Dinah Sargeant, Deborah Weir, and Susan Willen.
Calling all Poets! A poetry writing competition will be held at PHES Gallery in conjunction with “Story Quilts.” Please join us for a creative dive into ekphrastic poetry - poetry written in response to art. The public will have the opportunity to write a poem (or poems) in response to the show at the Gallery. Submissions will be accepted through June 11 (info@phesgallery.com). Each entry must include the quilt number, your name, and the title of your poem. Poems will be performed in the Gallery courtyard on June 25 at 5 p.m., followed by a poet's reception. Prizes will be awarded for the top 3 poems.
