Come enjoy winter activities without the winter weather with the Carlsbad Village Winterfest. The Carlsbad Village Winterfest, organized and produced by the Move Your Feet Before You Eat!® Foundation with support from the City of Carlsbad and the Carlsbad Village Business Association, is a first-time event focused on bringing Carlsbad residents downtown to participate in a family-friendly weekend of physical activity. The centerpiece of the winter festival - scheduled January 29-30, 2016 - is a synthetic skating rink, an outdoor 40-by-80-foot skating surface made from layers of plastic polymer (no cold weather or frozen ice required). This rink would accommodate 150 skaters at any given time. While Southern California may not get snow, our perfect weather does allow us to bring winter like activities without the hassle of heavy coats, mittens and beanies. Other activities include an arts and crafts fair for children, food trucks and entertainment.
