Crews continue to make progress on storm drain system upgrades and other infrastructure enhancements along Grand Avenue in Carlsbad Village.

This week, crews are installing upgraded storm drain pipes along the final segment, from just west of Madison Street to Jefferson Street along Grand Avenue. Work along this segment is expected to take approximately three to four weeks to complete. Following completion of this segment, restorations will be performed throughout the project area.

To accommodate construction, water service may be interrupted in and around portions of the construction area between the hours of midnight and 8 a.m. on two consecutive mornings - Thursday, July 23 and Friday, July 24. Please see the map above for the exact locations of the planned service disruptions.

During construction, traffic control will be in place along some segments of the project area on weekdays from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. On Wednesday afternoons, accommodations are being made by the City of Carlsbad to ensure the State Street Farmers’ Market can occur as scheduled by maintaining street and sidewalk access in and around the event. No work is planned on weekends or major holidays at this time. It is estimated the work will be complete by Fall 2015.

To inquire about the construction along Grand Avenue, please call 760-602-2780 or email the City of Carlsbad at cmi@carlsbadca.gov.  We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you. Thank you for your patience during construction!
